The Antifragility Advantage

Use adversity to become stronger than ever before.

The Problem

Fragile systems break under pressure. Resilient systems withstand that pressure. Antifragile systems, under pressure, get better.

In times of change, uncertainty and adversity, becoming antifragile is the ultimate competitive advantage for leaders, teams and organisations.

The Insight

Antifragile leaders embrace challenges when others resist or avoid them, and they create a climate for others to be at their best when times are tough. We call this the Antifragility Advantage.

The Program

In this program leaders unlock greater self awareness of their current level of antifragility, plus practical tools they can use immediately to strengthen their own antifragility and to build it across the teams they lead, at work and beyond.

Watch
Shaun and Michelle explain the core idea of antifragility.
What is Antifragility?

Fragile things break under stress. Resilient things resist it and return to where they were. But some people and some systems do something remarkable: under pressure, they grow stronger. That is antifragility.

It comes down to two capacities working together. Resilience, the ability to bounce back from adversity as quickly as possible. And Grit, the ability to keep moving forward towards long-term goals regardless of adversity.

Why Antifragility?

Resilience and Grit each matter, but on their own neither is enough. Resilience without Grit bounces back quickly but drifts off the long-term goal. Grit without Resilience pushes hard but struggles to recover from setbacks.

Only when a leader has both do they become antifragile, growing stronger through the very pressure that overwhelms others, and creating the conditions for their team to do the same.

The goal is the top right: high Resilience and high Grit. That is the Antifragility Advantage, and it can be learned, by a leader and the team they lead.
